On the Day of the City of Zagreb at ZOV is everything lively and active, groups of visitors alternate all day. We make sure that the ecology and ecosystem of the city of Zagreb is in the first place, and that our Sava is cleaner than twenty years ago when there was no plant. The future of our city and a healthier environment is the task of all of us! The future sanitary engineers who visited us, under the guidance of the advisor to the Director of the Training Institute Dr. Andrija Štampar, Ph.D. Sandra Šikić.
TEACHING INSTITUTE OF DR. ANDRIJA ŠtAMPAR IN ZAGREB IS THE 'PILLAR' OF HEALTH!
'We are creating a healthier future', do you know whose slogan that it? Of the Teaching Institute for Public Health Andrija Štampar, who for 70 years has been the real leader and companion of the citizens of Zagreb on the path to achieving health. Their vision, as one of the centers of medical excellence in the Republic of Croatia, is to be the best public health institution in the wider region, and their mission is manifested in the provision of services in the field of public health, respecting the highest standards of socially responsible behavior and scientifically based knowledge, and offering users reliability and quality according to the principles of health excellence.
During the coronavirus pandemic, their employees were very much at the service of the citizens of Zagreb day and night, and on the 'first line' of defense against the virus. Therefore, this dash and the mention of their activity is just a small thank you for the years of their dedicated work in the city of Zagreb. Many do not know that the Institute is also the teaching base of the Faculty of Medicine University of Zagreb and the Faculty of Medicine Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. The Institute is the main associate of the Faculty of Medicine University of Rijeka, Faculty of Science and Mathematics and Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry in Zagreb University of Health Zagreb and University of Velika Gorica, thus successfully performing its educational role in the community.
SANITARY ENGINEERS AN INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT JOB
As part of the course 'Water purification and treatment' of the study of sanitary engineering, the students got to know in detail the technology and work of our plant. The interested students of the 3rd year of Sanitary Engineering at the Zagreb University of Health already got a general impression of the purifier in their first year of study. And now brings them consideration of the entire process and learning about the importance of the plant for the city of Zagreb. We are glad that all these years Zagrebačke otpadne vode has the opportunity to participate and be an extended hand in the education of students of various faculties, and to be available to the citizens of the City of Zagreb, who are celebrating their day today.
